Pizza King-Style BBQ Ham Pizza
Notebook notes: par-bake the crust for 5 minutes so the sauce does not soak in. Use extra sauce and cheese.
Ingredients
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour, plus 2–3 tablespoons more if needed
- Extra flour for the work surface
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup deli ham, cut into 1-inch pieces
- Open Pit barbecue sauce, to taste
- ½ cup shredded provolone
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella
- ½ teaspoon dried dill
Instructions
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Slowly stir in the water and olive oil to form a dough. Knead in extra flour if the dough is sticky.
- Rest the dough for 5–10 minutes while heating the oven and a pizza stone to 450°F.
- Roll the dough on a floured surface into a thin 16-inch round. Transfer it to the hot stone and par-bake for 5 minutes.
- Spread barbecue sauce to the edges of the crust. Add the ham, provolone, mozzarella, and dill.
- Bake at 450°F for 12–15 minutes, then cut into squares.
A store-bought fresh pizza dough can be substituted. Roll it thinly, prick it with a fork, and follow its package temperature instructions.
